Brazilian tennis player Diego Matos was prohibited from professional tennis for life and fined $125,000 (#100,600) after being convicted of numerous match-fixing offences.
Matos has also been ordered to repay $12,000 (#9,650) obtained in winnings in tournaments played in Ecuador.
An independent hearing found that Matos had contrived the consequence of 10 tennis matches played in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Portugal and Spain in ITF level tournaments during 2018.
Along with the match-fixing fees, the player was additionally found guilty of not co-operating using a Tennis Integrity Unit investigation since he failed to provide records, and refused to comply with requests to supply his phone for examination.
Mato, that had been provisionally suspended from tennis as 6 December was rated 373rd using a singles ranking of 580th at April 2012, in doubles.
