The Jacksonville Jaguars corner said Tuesday during mandatory minicamp he has been told he isn’t getting a contract extension this season.
The Pro Bowl corner considers he is outperformed his rookie deal but isn’t upset he will have to wait at least one year until his contract is dealt with.
“I’m not down on it or anything like that. I am blessed,” Ramsey said, via Eugene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union.
Ramsey enters the fourth year of the rookie deal, set to earn $3.634 million in base wages. The Jags exercised the fifth-year alternative for the former No. 5 overall pick, which would pay him $13.7 million in 2020.
Together with the Jags not addressing his deal, Ramsey has an idea where he’d love to spend the team’s money: On draftmate Yannick Ngakoue, who’s holding from minicamp.
“I think Yan has made a contract. …I really hope something gets done,” he said, via Daniel Popper of The Athletic.
