The Atlanta Falcons and wide receiver Julio Jones have agreed a three-year, $66m (Number 53m) fully guaranteed contract expansion with $64 (#51.5m) due immediately.
The Falcons as well as jones have been working toward a contract for months.
Owner Arthur Blank said in March that the team wanted a deal done before training camp, even while general manager Thomas Dimitroff set a objective of the beginning of the Falcons’ season, which is Sunday.
Jones, 30, had been set to create $21m (#17m) over the subsequent two seasons in his existing contract. Jones and the Falcons are tied for five years, with the most recent extension tacked on.
Jones is coming – and second in a row – after catching 113 moves for a yards and eight touchdowns last season.
He stays the NFL’s all-time pioneer in career receiving yards per game (96.7).
The Falcons open the season against the Vikings.
