Julio Jones to remain an Atalanta Falcon for the next five years

The Atlanta Falcons and wide receiver Julio Jones have agreed a three-year, $66m (#53m) fully guaranteed contract extension with $64 (#51.5m) due immediately.
Jones and the Falcons have been working toward a contract for decades.
Owner Arthur Blank said in March the team needed a deal done before training camp, while general director Thomas Dimitroff set a objective of the start of the Falcons’ season, which is Sunday.
Jones, 30, has been set to earn $21m (#17m) within the following two seasons on his current contract. With the extension , the Falcons and Jones are currently tied together for five decades.
Entering his ninth year, Jones is coming from his sixth Pro Bowl selection – and second in a row – after grabbing 113 moves for a yards and eight touchdowns last season.
He remains the NFL’s all-time leader in career receiving yards per game (96.7).
The Falcons open the year against the Vikings.
