Teams receive four points for a win plus two to get a draw. A bonus point will be awarded for scoring four tries or for a conquer by seven points or fewer.
Runner-up and the winner in each pool qualify for the quarter-finals.
If teams are tied at full time in the knockout phases, then the winner shall be determined through extra time, if there is still no winner, then sudden death if the scores remain tied, and a kicking competition.
